Dicember 19th in Paris Edith Piaf came to life, predestined to become the most famous French singer in the world and the interpreter of the most famous song, “La vie en rose “(of which she was co-author). A hundred years have passed but she is still that Piaf of whom Marlene Dietrich used to say: “ If Paris was to be re-named it would be named Piaf”.
Actress and singer Clelia Cicero and guitarist Corrado Caruana play Piaf’s songs in a gypsy style , thus enhancing the simplicity and the rough street artists mood like Piaf herself did at the beginning of her life.
Clelia has sung her tribute in Italy, U.S.A., Argentina, Switzerland and France too.
Il 19 dicembre 1915 a Parigi nasceva Edith Piaf, colei che sarebbe diventata – e sarebbe rimasta – la cantante francese più celebre nel mondo, e l’interprete della canzone francese più famosa di sempre “La vie en rose “(di cui era coautrice). Sono passati 100 anni, ma questi due primati restano, e, non solo in Francia, Edith Piaf è un’istituzione. Marlene Dietrich intima amica dell’artista disse: “Se Parigi dovesse cambiare nome, si chiamerebbe Piaf...”
Clelia Cicero, attrice e cantante e Corrado Caruana, chitarrista riarrangiano i brani della Piaf nello stile manouche-swing rendendo le immortali canzoni della più grande cantante francese, già meravigliose nella loro composizione originale, graffianti e coinvolgenti. La semplicità dei due strumenti, chitarra manouche e voce, riporta le canzoni a quell’essenza che restituisce l’esibizione “da strada”. Come faceva Edith, che si presentava e stupiva i passanti attraverso il solo strumento della sua voce. Clelia ha cantato Piaf in Italia, negli Stati Uniti, in Argentina, in Svizzera e nella tanto temuta Francia dove l’artista è ancora amatissima.
