Meschiya Lake has quickly emerged as one of New Orleans' finest female jazz singers, being recognized as Best Female Performer of the Year ( in 2010, 2011 and 2012) by the Big Easy Music Awards.
The Little Big Horns Jazz Band that she created in 2009, in 2012 won the Music Award for Best Traditional Jazz band.
Meschiya Lake and her Little Big Horns play trad-jazz, ol’times blues and New Orleans Music, they performe around the globe with sold-out shows with stops at such venerable stages as Lincoln Center and major international festivals in the United States, Brazil, Denmark, the Netherlands, Russia, and the U.K . Not to mention the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Along the way Lake and the Little Big Horns have garnered such praise as “one of the most entertaining bands on the planet,” from the venerable British rock magazine R2.
