UK Soulful Jazz and Blues singer-songwriter Denise Gordon has performed on the International Jazz scene for over a decade.
Denise Gordon is energetically magnetic, she engages with everyone, bringing joy and light to the entire performance. Singing from the heart, Denise connects with the audience and leaves them completely fulfilled.
Influenced by her rich Afro-Caribbean musical heritage she has been singing with her own style firmly rooted in Gospel and she can express an array of styles performing anything from Traditional Jazz, New Orleans Music, Soul, Rhythm ‘n’ Blues Spirituals.
Denise tours frequently throughout Europe, can be seen regularly in Germany and Switzerland, performed at Jazz Ascona festival & in the beloved city of New Orleans at the prestigious Preservation Hall. She also performed in countries as far away as Australia, Brazil and China & Hong Kong and at home in the UK in venues as varied as Buckingham Palace, Glastonbury, T in the Park, and Edinburgh Festival, adapting her style from the smallest and most intimate venues to the largest theatres.
Her soul remains deeply rooted in Gospel, and with her New Orleans-based band presents traditional & contemporary flavours of Soul, Funk, Latin and R&B.
This summer sees a NEW ALBUM recorded in her spiritual home, New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz…! Featuring outstanding musicians from the city Wendell Brunius (Trumpet) Thaddeus Richard (Piano) Jesse Boyd (Bass) and Gerald “G-Funk” French (Drums) and including two originals “Puppy Don’t Follow” and “Voodoo Blues”.
